Certified Pre-Owned vs used
Simply put, a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle is a used vehicle that's been inspected and reconditioned but still covered with a limited warranty and purchased from a dealership. Buying certified pre-owned vehicles can be less risky than buying non-certified or privately sold used vehicles, which may not have undergone any stringent certification process.
The Nissan Certified Pre-Owned program
Two Types of Nissan Certification
Nissan now offers two ways to buy a pre-owned Nissan with confidence. Both Nissan Certified and Certified Select come with a CARFAX® Vehicle History Report™, a guaranteed trade in and 24/7 roadside assistance for the duration of its respective warranty.
On available inventory, buyers can complete their purchase online using Nissan@Home.
Nissan Certified
- Must be less than six years old from the new car's in-service date
- Have less than 80,000 miles on the odometer
- Must have a clean, non-branded title
- One year complimentary basic pre-paid maintenance
- Must pass a comprehensive 167-point Nissan Certified Pre-Owned inspection
- 7-year/100,000, which ever comes first, limited warranty
Certified Select
- Must be less than 10 years old from the new car's in-service date
- Have less than 100,000 miles on the odometer
- Must have a clean, non-branded title
- 1 prepaid service visit within the first year of ownership
- Must pass a comprehensive 84-point Nissan Certified Pre-Owned inspection
- 6-month/6,000, which ever comes first, limited warranty

Nissan Pre-Owned Limited Warranties
The Nissan Certified 7-Year/100,000 Mile Limited Warranty lasts 7 years from the original new car in-service date of the vehicle or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, and covers over 600 components including engine, transmission and drive train.
Nissan's latest type of inspected and approved vehicles, Certified Select come equipped with a 6-month/6,000 Mile Limited Warranty, which ever comes first.
Engine
Cylinder heads and block and all internally lubricated parts, rocker covers and oil pan, valve train and front cover, timing chain and tensioner, oil pump and fuel pump, fuel injectors, intake and exhaust manifolds and turbocharger, flywheel, seals and gaskets.
Transmission and Transfer Case
Transmission and Transfer Case: Case and all internally lubricated parts, torque converter and converter housing, automatic transmission control module, transfer case and all internal parts, seals and gaskets, and electronic transmission controls.
Replacement Parts
Replacement of any part will be made with a new or remanufactured replacement part manufactured by or for Nissan for use on Nissan vehicles. If a part is not available from Nissan, Nissan may authorize an outside sourced part of like and kind and quality to be used in the repair.
Drivetrain
Drive shafts, final drive housing and all internally lubricated parts, propeller shafts, universal joints, bearings, seals and gaskets.
Deductible
Repairs covered under this Warranty are subject to a deductible of $100 per visit, execpt where prohibited by law.
Nissan Certified and Certified Select Inspections
All Nissan Certified vehicles must pass a 167-point comprehensive inspection. This inspection must be completed by a Nissan-trained technician. A CARFAX® Vehicle History Report™ is provided along with a complete Nissan service history review. All reconditioning must be done with Nissan-approved parts. Only upon completion of this rigorous inspection process can it be labeled a Nissan Certified Pre-Owned vehicle.
Certified Select cars, which allow for increased inventory with a wider range of models, years and mileage pass an 84-point inspection conducted by the same Nissan-trained technicians.

All Nissan Certified vehicles come with a one-year complimentary Basic PMA. Certified Select vehicles include 1 prepaid service visit within the first year of ownership.
CarFax Vehicle History Report and 3-Year Buyback Guarantee
You can view the CARFAX® Vehicle History Report™ on every Certified Pre-Owned and Certified Select Nissan. CARFAX® also provides a 3-Year Buyback Guarantee that reduces the risk involved in purchasing a pre-owned vehicle.
Pre-owned limited warranty runs from the vehicle’s original in-service date. Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Limited Warranty includes Roadside Assistance Package for the duration of the limited warranty.
